Under the hood, the Super Snake is equipped with a modified version of Ford's Coyote 5.0L V8, upgraded with a polished Whipple supercharger. As much as 825 HP and 630 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 10-speed Ford SelectShift automatic transmission with a transmission cooler and a Torsen limited-slip differential, which allows the Super Snake to reach 60 MPH from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds. Additional modifications include a Shelby Performance Program tune, high-performance fuel injectors, a performance air intake system, a billet throttle body, an aluminum performance heat exchanger, and a Shelby Extreme Cooling system, which provides an intercooler and a larger radiator. The Super Snake is also fitted with a specially-tuned Borla exhaust system. The suspension has been revised by Shelby American with a lowered ride height, larger stabilizer bars. Stopping power is derived from a Shelby-spec Brembo braking system consisting of 6-piston calipers in the front and 4-piston calipers in the rear with heavy-duty brake pads.
